The Los Angeles Dodgers Want More Of The Same For 2010 Mlb Season
The Los Angeles Dodgers went out of the playoffs a little earlier than they thought last season and are doing everything that they can to make sure that the same thing does not happen to them again this season. In certain cities, making the playoffs is just not enough and Dodger fans can rest easy for the remainder of the winter knowing their team is looking for revenge.
The Dodgers finished the season with the best record in the National League, but that was not enough to get past the defending World Champs. After taking the momentum by splitting in Philadelphia, they had every reason to believe that they would be representing the National League in the World Series. The Phillies had other plans though, and swept the Los Angeles Dodgers on their own field and left them with their jaws hanging open and wondering what happened.
There was really no need to make wholesale changes by the Dodgers, all they needed to do was lock up their studs to long term deals and look for the season to get under way. One of the major contracts that they wanted to and succeeded in getting locked up before arbitration came around was that of Matt Kemp.
At only 25 years old, this centerfielder has a long and distinguished career ahead of him. After his breakout sophomore season, he was made into the fulltime starter for the Los Angeles Dodgers and has proved them right ever since. Already sporting a career .299 average, the future of the Dodgers is right before your eyes.
Andre Ethier will be back in right field this season and we can only hope that his average catches up to his HR production from last year. While there are plenty of people that will trade 11 HRs for .023, you would have to think Ethier will be more comfortable at the plate now as a slugger and will have a better idea of when to go for the fences and when to put it in play. He may be battling through the same tendencies that Ryan Howard has been and eventually, the two will come together and it may just happen this season.
Of course, the other outfielder is the infamous Manny Ramirez. He made headlines for all the wrong reasons last season and is surely looking to put all of that behind him and start a fresh campaign. Thanks to injuries and suspensions, he played in his fewest games since 1994 and the Dodgers still racked up more wins than anyone else in the National League.
All we can see to the rest of the league is watch out. If there is one stadium in baseball that should be sold out every game, Dodger Stadium is it. The team has the perfect balance of veteran studs with young talent that is looking to make a name for themselves. If they get out of the gate quick, the Dodgers are going to be tough to beat and will surely be playing well into October and beyond.

The value of a 1988 Los Angeles Dodgers signed team ball?
My brother has a signed baseball from all of the players from the champion 1988 Los Angeles Dodgers. He witnessed the team signing the ball, but I'm not sure if he has any pictures of the event.
He would like to get a general idea about how much it is worth. He has had this for many years and it is in close to mint condition. He has treated this ball like its been his baby since he received it that year.
Thank you for your answers.
If on an official MLB baseball (not game-used) I'd say about $400, mostly because of LaSorda, Valenzuela, Gibson + Hershisher; get in touch with http://www.psadna.com
so they can verify and identify the signatures as well as provide paperwork certification
